Robert G. Lewis, 87, of Moore Twp., passed away on November 2nd, 2023 peacefully in his home. He is survived by his wife Joyce M. (Angelmeyer). He was born in Tatamy on December 12, 1935 to the late Thomas Sr. and Ethelyn (Bush) Lewis. In his younger years, he worked at Penn Dixie Cement Co. and Martin Guitar. He spent 24 years of his career as an installer and driver for Agway - Suburban Propane. Most recently, he worked at Albanese Garden Center. He was a member of Holy Cross Evangelical Lutheran Church. He served as a volunteer firefighter at Palmer and Bushkill Townships. He loved tending to the many animals on his farm and riding his horse drawn carriage in the Tatamy parade. You could often catch him square dancing with his wife or watching his favorite sports teams or TV shows. He was an avid hunter with his sons and grandsons.
In addition to his wife of 57 years, left to cherish his memory are his family: sons, Robert G. Lewis, Jr. and wife Bettyann of Bangor; Terry T. Lewis of Moore Twp; daughter: Suzanne Mimlitsch and husband Francis of Effort; brother: Vaughn Lewis of Wind Gap; sisters: Ethelyn Lilly of Easton and Beverly Gostony of Bushkill Twp; grandsons: Bobby and wife Jessie, and Brian; granddaughter: Marissa; and great-granddaughters: Chloe and Emily. Robert is predeceased by a brother: Thomas Jr.; and sisters: Joy Schellenberger, Linda Fehnel, Thelma Jones, and Virginia Welty.
A Funeral Service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, November 10, 2023 at the GEORGE G. BENSING FUNERAL HOME, LLC - 2165 Community Drive - Bath, PA 18014. An evening visitation will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, November 9, 2023 at the funeral home. The interment will conclude services (Friday) at Holy Cross Lutheran Cemetery - Bushkill Center. Online expressions of sympathy can be recorded at: www.bensingfuneralhome.net
