Richard Frace Obituary

Richard D. “Reds” Frace, 83, a lifelong resident of Tatamy, passed away on Monday, December 25, 2023.  He was the loving husband of Janet E. (Flick) Frace to whom he was married 61 years on May 5th.

Born in Wilson Borough, Dick was a son of the late Edward D. and Grace E. (Babp) Frace.  A 1958 graduate of Nazareth High School, he attended the former Churchman Business School and honorably served in the United States Army during peacetime.  Dick was last employed at Equipto in Tatamy, where he worked for more than 20 years before retiring.  Previously, he served as the editor of the former Nazareth Item until the closing in 1975.

Civic-minded, Dick was involved in his community serving as a member, President, Vice President and Treasurer of the Tatamy Historical Society.  During his association with the Historical Society, he was instrumental in organizing the archives, car show, and centennial celebration.  In 1998, Dick was honored for his service to the community and was awarded Citizen of The Year.  Additionally, he was active in Tatamy athletics coaching both softball and baseball.  Dick was also an active member of St. Peter’s United Church of Christ, Tatamy, where he served as deacon, elder, Consistory President and Vice President.  Throughout the years, he enjoyed fishing and always looked forward to attending the activities of his children and grandchildren whom he ardently supported.
