Joanne M. (Kearney) Rist

Joanne M. Rist, 60, formerly of Tobyhanna and Staten Island, New York, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, May 03, 2023, at her home in Hickory Hills, Moore Township.  She was the wife of Thomas M. Rist, Sr.  Joanne and Tommy would have celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary on June 9.  Born in Astoria, Queens, New York, shewas a daughter of the late Bernard P. Sr. and Helen (Kenelly) Kearney.  Joanne attended Flushing High School in Flushing, New York.  Prior to her illness, she was employed at Great Wolf Lodge in Scotrun, where she worked as a Public Area Supervisor since the opening of the lodge in 2005.  Joanne was a member of the Red Hat Society and VFW Post 3448, both of Tobyhanna.  She enjoyed playing cards and family games, especially Uno.  More important, Joanne loved her family and cherished spending time with her grandchildren.        

Survivors: In addition to her loving husband, Tommy, she is survived by three children, Samantha Rist and partner, Anthony Hickey, of Tobyhanna, Amanda Rist of Moore Township, and Thomas Rist, Jr. and wife, Betty, of Easton; a stepdaughter, Kaylea Hy of Dubois; five grandchildren, Kaylee, Emmitt, Mason, Kaydyn, and Amelia; a brother, Bernard Kearney, Jr. and wife, Elena, of Flushing, New York; a sister, Dee Walpole and husband, Larry, of Rockland County, New York; along with nieces and nephews.  Joanne was predeceased by a brother, Patrick Kearney; and a sister, Rosemary Kearney.  

Services: A funeral service will be held on Sunday, May 07, 2023, at 5:00 P.M. in the GEORGE G. BENSING FUNERAL HOME, LLC, 2165 Community Drive, Route 946, in the Village of Moorestown –Bath, PA 18014. Friends and relatives are invited to attend a visitation on Sunday afternoon from 3:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Interment will be private.
