Edward B. Snyder

Edward B. Snyder, 82, of Upper Nazareth Township, formerly of Lower Nazareth Township, passed away on Friday, May 26, 2023, at Kirkland Village in Bethlehem. He was the husband of Barbara A. (Masters) Snyder to whom he was married 23 years. Born in Fountain Hill, Edward was a son of the late Harold Sr. and Bertha (Broad) Snyder. He attended Nazareth High School and later honorably served in the United States Army. Edward retired in 2006 from Praxair, Inc., in Bethlehem, a Division of Air Products, where he was employed as a maintenance mechanic. After retiring, he worked part-time as a used car salesman for his brother Junior. Prior to that, Edward was a mechanic at the former Chemical Leaman Tank Lines for many years, before owning the Snyder Citgo Service Station on Main Street and Rout 248 in Nazareth. Following the sale of the service station, he and Barbara moved to Sarasota, Florida, where he was employed as a bus and fire truck mechanic for Sarasota County Transit. Edward was a car enthusiast and member of the Antique Automobile Club of America.

In addition to his loving wife, Barbara, he will be sadly missed by his daughter, Joy Reph and husband, Kevin, of Bushkill Township; stepdaughter, Lisa Dorr and husband, Karl, of Dillsburg, PA; two grandsons, Jason Reph of Bushkill Township, and Joshua Dorr of Dillsburg, PA; four brothers, Marlyn Snyder and wife, Marianne, of Palmerton, Harold "Junior" Snyder, Jr. and wife, Barbara, Brian Snyder and wife, Denise, both of Nazareth, and John Schey and wife, Vickie, of New York; a sister, Grace Crowther and husband, Bob, of Palmer Township; along with many nieces and nephews. Edward was predeceased by two brothers, Glenn B. and Lambert H. Snyder; and a stepson, Tim Masters.

A memorial service with Military Honors will be held on Friday, June 02, 2023, at 11:00 A.M. in Bushkill Township Volunteer Fire Company, 155 Firehouse Drive, Nazareth, PA 18064. Friends and relatives are invited to call from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. in the fire hall. Burial will be private. Arrangements are under the care and direction of the GEORGE G. BENSING FUNERAL HOME, LLC, in the Village of Moorestown – Bath.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be offered to the American Cancer Society and/or Bushkill Township Volunteer Fire Company.
