Douglas C. Schwenk, 75, passed away at his residence in Slatington, while surrounded by his loving family, on Thursday, January 04, 2024.  He was the husband of Linda L. (Moll) Schoeneberger Schwenk.  Together for 30 years, Doug and Linda would have celebrated 17 years of marriage on January 13th.

Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late Charles and Cecelia (Burke) Schwenk.  After graduating from Catasauqua High School in 1966, Doug honorably served in the United States Army during Vietnam.  A member of the Bakery, Confectionary, Tobacco Workers and Grain Millers International Union, he was employed at Just Born Quality Confections in Bethlehem for 21 years, retiring in 2014.  Prior to that, Doug was a machinist and later an inspector at Ingersoll-Rand in Allentown, where he worked for 21 years until the plant closed.  In his spare time, he enjoyed deer hunting and he was a motorcycle enthusiast.  Doug was also a former volunteer firefighter for Steel City.

Survivors: In addition to his loving wife, Linda, he is survived by a son, Phillip Schwenk of Bethlehem; three stepsons, Edward Schoeneberger and wife, Lisa, of Northampton, Mark Schoeneberger and wife, Michelle, of Danielsville, and Thomas Schoeneberger and wife, Polly, of Bath; 10 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a brother, Jeffrey Schwenk and wife, Patty, of Treichlers; and former wife, Bertha Schwenk of Bethlehem.

Doug was predeceased by a son, Eric Schwenk.

Services: A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, January 27, 2024, from 12 Noon to 3:00 P.M. at the Northampton Community Center, 1601 Laubach Avenue, Northampton, PA 18067.  Arrangements have been entrusted to the GEORGE G. BENSING FUNERAL HOME, LLC, in the Village of Moorestown – Bath.
