Allen E. Smith

Allen E. "Skippy" Smith, 84, of Moore Twp., passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 9, 2024 at Country Meadows Nursing & Rehab Center - Bethlehem Twp. He was the beloved husband of Anna (Wagner) Smith to whom he was married for 65 years. He was born in Lehighton the son of the late Elmer Smith and Margaret (Dowling) Keller.

Allen was a proud graduate of Coplay High School in 1957. Throughout his career, Allen worked as a truck driver for various companies including Modern Transfer, Allentown, True Value and M&M Transportation, Nazareth.

A member of Teamsters Local 773 in Allentown, Allen was known for his love of gardening and caring for his orchard, yielding crops he would later use to create his famous homemade wines. He spent hours under the hood of his cars as well as those of his family members, always willing to lend a helping hand. In his retirement, Allen found solace in hunting on the property he and his wife owned in Bradford County.

Survivors: In addition to his wife; he will be dearly missed by his children: Wanda Reimer and her husband Robert, Jr. of Jacksonville, FL, Wendy Luberti and her husband Michael Jr. of Northampton and Douglas Smith and his wife Lori of Weatherford, TX; grandchildren: Jennifer(Jason), Robert, III(Mackenzie), Ian(Alexis), Colby and Jayden and great-granddaughters: Patterson and Lydia. Allen is preceded in death by sisters: Doris Smith and Janet Morris.

Services: A Funeral Service will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, April, 20, 2024 at the GEORGE G. BENSING FUNERAL HOME, LLC - 2165 Community Drive - Bath, PA 18014. Friends and Relatives are invited to call from 10 AM until the time of the service. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery - Howertown.
