William Hersh

William C. "Bill" Hersh, 69, of South Whitehall Township, formerly of Allentown, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 21, 2024 at St. Luke's Hospice House in Lower Saucon Township. He was the husband of Paula M. (Rodger) Hersh. The couple would have celebrated their 42nd wedding anniversary on July 24th.

Born in Allentown, Bill was a son of the late Richard C. Sr. and Joan (LeVan) Hersh. After graduating from William Allen High School in 1972, he honorably served in the United States Navy during Vietnam. Later he attended Lincoln Technical School where he earned an Associate degree in Drafting and Design. Bill had a successful career as a draftsman with Mack Trucks at World Headquarters in Allentown, which spanned nearly 25 years before retiring. An avid gamer, Bill was also a talented wood craftsman who was an ardent Penn State football fan. He was a master mason and member of Greenleaf Lodge No. 561 F. & A.M. of Allentown. Dedicated to his family, Bill loved his grandchildren more than anything. He was of the Lutheran faith.

Survivors: In addition to his loving wife, Paula, he will be dearly missed by his children, Kevin Hersh, Sr. and wife, Kristie, of North Wales, Gwendolyn Hersh Johnson and husband, Partick, of Frederick, Maryland, and Trevor Hersh and fiancee, Karen Rubbert, of Portland, Oregon; grandchildren, Madison, Kaitlin, Emma and Kevin Hersh; brothers, Richard C. "Dick" Hersh, Jr. and wife, Cindy, of Broadlands, Virginia, and, Robert C. Hersh of Catasauqua; a sister, Diane Kress and husband, Scott, of Emmaus; nieces and nephews, Chuck, Matthew, Kelly, Bryan, Cory, and Kyle.

Bill was predeceased by a brother, Thomas C. Hersh; and a sister-in-law, Jill Hersh.

Services: A Graveside Service with Military Honors will be held on Friday, August 09, 2024, at 12 Noon in Grandview Cemetery, 2735 Walbert Avenue, Allentown, PA 18104. Arrangements are under the care and direction of the GEORGE G. BENSING FUNERAL HOME, LLC, in the Village of Moorestown - Bath.
