William J. Haydt, 73, of Moore Twp., passed away on Tuesday, September 15, 2026 at St. Luke's University Hospital - Bethlehem Campus. He was the beloved husband of Karen A. Haydt (Rutt) to whom he was married to for 50 years. Born in Fountain Hill, William was a son of the late William and Elizabeth Haydt (Zamadics).

He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Air Force. Throughout his working years, he was employed by Bethlehem Steel. He later worked as an electrician at Lehigh Valley Hospital and went on to serve as manager of the City of Bethlehem Water Filtration Plant. Away from work, he was an avid New York Yankees and New York Giants fan, but one of his greatest passions was classic automobiles. He took tremendous pride in restoring his 1962 Chevrolet Impala, finished in a striking candy-apple red. Countless hours were devoted to bringing the car back to life, and he proudly displayed it at area car shows, where his craftsmanship and attention to detail earned numerous awards. More than simply a prized possession, the Impala was a reflection of his patience, skill and appreciation for doing things the right way, and it remained a source of great pride and enjoyment for him.

In addition to his wife, he will be remembered by his children: Nicole Miller of Bethlehem and William H. Haydt (Courtney) of Mullica Hill, NJ; grandchildren: Charlotte, Levi and Wyn; sister: Patricia Lerch (Al) of Northampton. He is predeceased by a brother: Richard Haydt.

A Visitation with Family will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, September 19, 2026, in the GEORGE G. BENSING FUNERAL HOME, INC. - 2165 Community Drive - Bath, PA 18014 (Moorestown).
