Viola "Lola" M. Fenner, 92, of Bangor, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 31, 2026 at Lehigh Valley Hospital - Hecktown Oaks. Born in Wind Gap, Viola was a daughter of the late Loris and Emma Fenner (Van Buskirk). Viola was employed as a Machine Operator for R&R Toy Factory, retiring from Maria Rose sportswear.
Beyond her daily life, Viola found joy in life's simple pleasures. She loved trying her luck at the casino and always looked forward to shopping trips, especially if they included a stop at the Dollar Store. A lifelong animal lover, Viola always had a special place in her heart for birds, with her beloved parakeet, George, becoming her cherished companion in recent years. She also adored dogs and cats, and many of the neighborhood dogs at her apartment complex knew they could count on Viola for a biscuit and a friendly greeting whenever they crossed her path. Viola had a zest for life, often enjoying an ice-cold beer with friends and family, creating many joyful memories that will continue to warm the hearts of those left behind.
Perhaps what will be remembered most was Viola's generous heart. She found genuine happiness in brightening the days of others, especially children, often slipping them a dollar bill simply to make them smile. It was these quiet acts of kindness, given without expectation, that reflected the warmth, compassion, and selflessness that defined her life.
The family extends its heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate caregivers and staff of Dongy Home Care and Residential Services for the exceptional care, kindness, and dignity they showed Viola. Their unwavering support and genuine compassion brought comfort not only to Viola, but to her entire family, for which they will always be deeply grateful.
She will be dearly missed by her sisters: Patricia Heller of Bath, Ruth Frable of Saylorsburg and Shirley Nichols of Wind Gap; nieces & nephews. Viola was predeceased by a sister Vera Frey; brothers: Franklin & Elwood Fenner; sister-in-law: Marie Fenner, brother-in -law George Heller, Albert Frable, Ronald Nichols and Truby Frey.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday, August 4, 2026 in the GEORGE G. BENSING FUNERAL HOME, INC., 2165 Community Drive - Bath, PA 18014.
