Timothy A. Getz, 63, passed away peacefully at his residence in Upper Nazareth Township, surrounded by his loving family, on Monday, June 9, 2025. He was the husband of Michele D. (Schaffer) Getz. The couple celebrated 42 years of marriage last November.
Born in Wilson Borough, Tim was raised by his maternal grandparents, William and Ruth (Kessler) Getz, and he was a 1980 graduate of Nazareth High School. His career as a successful heavy equipment operator was a lifelong pursuit that spanned more than three decades. Prior to his early retirement due to health concerns, Tim was employed at New Enterprise Stone & Lime in Martins Creek, where he worked as a heavy equipment operator for 14 years. An avid outdoorsman and life-member of East Bath Rod & Gun Club, he enjoyed hunting and fishing, and shared many fond memories of fishing trips in upstate New York. Tim was also huge fan of sprint car racing and NASCAR.
Survivors: In addition to his loving wife, Michele, he will be dearly missed by his children, Timothy M. Getz and fiancee, Stephanie, of Upper Nazareth Township, and Cristal Mertz and husband, Joshua, of Nazareth; a grandson, Austin, and two granddaughters; two brothers, Robert Garren of Danielsville, and Troy Garren of Saylorburg; a sister, Candy Nguyen and husband, Dr. Vu, of Moore Township; along with nieces and nephews.
Services: In keeping with Tim's wishes, there will be no public services. Arrangements are under the care and direction of the GEORGE G. BENSING FUNERAL HOME, INC., in the Village of Moorestown - Bath. Online expressions of sympathy may be recorded at: www.bensingfuneralhome.net.
