Thomas R. Curtis, 82, of Bushkill Twp., passed away peacefully on Monday, September 16, 2024 at Lehigh Valley Hospital - Muhlenburg. He was the beloved husband of Judith Curtis (Anderson to whom he was married to for 63 years). Born in Linden, NJ, Thomas was a son of the late Thomas and Doris Curtis (Collins).
After graduating from Linden High School, Thomas married his high school sweetheart Judith Curtis and began his service in the United States Navy where he served from 1961 - 1965. After his service in the Navy, Thomas started his career at Public Service Electric & Gas (PSE&G) where he worked his way up from a helper to an underground supervisor. He later retired from PSE&G after more than 37 years of service. In 1968, Thomas and Judith moved with their growing family to Clark, NJ. In Clark, Thomas was very active in supporting his community. He served as a proud member of the Clark Volunteer Fire Department (1968-1979) where he selflessly served the community and ensured the safety of those around him. Furthermore, he contributed to the welfare of the community as a Special Police Officer in Clark (1971-1988).
In 1988, Thomas and Judith moved from Clark to Bushkill Township, PA. Further demonstrating his commitment to public service, Thomas served on Bushkill Township's Planning Commission. In addition to his community service, Thomas enjoyed equestrian activities and often rode with his wife, Judith and grandson, Dillon. Together, they shared a passion for caring for and riding horses, creating cherished memories that will forever be treasured.
In addition to his wife, he will be missed by his children: Thomas Curtis of Belleville, NJ, Scott Curtis (Nicole) of Schnecksville, Kathy Curtis (David) of Nazareth; grandchildren: Dillon Curtis (Megan) of Bushkill Twp., Lindsay, Gabriel and Cassandra, great grandson: Luke Curtis; brother: Lawrence Curtis (Josephine) of Tallahasee, FL.
