It is with heavy hearts that we announce, Theodore T. Transue Sr., of Bushkill Twp., passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, on Thursday, May 21, 2026, at Lehigh Valley Hospital - Muhlenberg. He was 82. Ted was the loving husband to Pearl C. (Shrope) Transue for 61 years.
Born on August 25, 1943, in Easton, he was a son of the late Jacob F. and Una E. (Steiner) Transue.
Ted loved going to church and tending to his vegetable garden that he would plant every year to share with the everyone. He enjoyed taking motorcycle rides in the warm weather with his beloved wife. His true passion was fishing and he especially loved being able to take his boat out into open waters to fish whether it was a lake or ocean. He loved spending time with his children and his entire family. Ted also loved animals and especially his cat Tommy. He would enjoy going to his children's houses and giving lots of love to their animals. He worked on many farms including Stocker Brothers farms as a farm hand. He also worked at Easton Iron and Metal as a truck driver and in many other positions. Ted worked hard his entire life to support his family and children. Teds hobbies that he enjoyed were playing cards ,Yahtzee, horseshoes and quoits. Most people remember Ted as a jokester who would like to pick on you to make you laugh and smile.
Ted is survived by his beloved wife, Pearl, with whom he shared a life filled with love and laughter. He leaves behind a cherished legacy through his children: Theodore T. Transue Jr. and his wife Joy of Pen Argyl, Frank L. Transue of Easton, Catherine Stombaugh and her husband Alan of Saylorsburg, and John D. Transue and his wife Roxanne of Easton. Ted's family continued to grow, and he is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 5 step-grandchildren, over 20 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild, each of whom will carry forward his spirit. He will be deeply missed by his sisters, Mary Dutter and Thelma Jones, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
He was predeceased by his beloved daughter, Lisa M. Fischer; two grandchildren; his sister, Elizabeth Sos; and a half-brother, Carl Hann. Ted's gentle nature and warm heart made a profound impact on the lives of those who were fortunate enough to know him.
A Funeral Service for Ted will be held on Friday, May 29, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Faith Community Assembly of God 3000 Freemansburg Ave, Easton, PA 18045. Friends and Relatives are invited to call on Friday from 10:00 AM until the time of the service. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery - Moorestown.
