Russell Hoff

Russell E. Hoff, 95, of Pen Argyl, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 6, 2024 at Slate Belt Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Washington Twp., Born in Nazareth, Russell was a son of the late Horace and Olive Hoff (Johnson). He was the companion of the late Lila Meixsell who passed away in 2004.

Russell worked in construction until his retirement in 1990. Russell served our country faithfully in the US Army during the Korean War. He was a lifetime member of American Legion Post #724 Wind Gap where he served on the board of directors. Along with his companion Lila, he played on the American Legion Pool team. A man of many hobbies and interests, Russell enjoyed spending his time bird and deer watching, adult coloring books and puzzles, as well as engaging in card games (Hand & Foot) with his family. He found joy in the simple pleasures of life, such as splitting and chopping wood, activities that brought him peace and contentment.

Survivors: He will be dearly missed by his children: Janice Padgett of Pen Argyl, Sheila Buskirk of Bath; daughter-in-law: Pamela Lipyanic Hoff of Saylorsburg; companion's children: Joy Marsh and her husband Troy of Nazareth, Scott Meixsell of Nazareth, Kevin Meixsell of Easton; grandchildren: Tara, Sherri, Todd, Terry, Tonya, Eric and Brianna; 25 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren and companion's grandchildren; brothers: Byron Hoff and his wife Linda of Northampton, Nelson Hoff and his wife Sherri of Nazareth; sisters: Charlotte Grube of Lehighton, Eileen Amy of Bath, Shirley Transue of Nazareth, LaRue Gigliotti and William of Bath, LaNor Wilson and husband James of Simonton, TX; many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his companion, he was predeceased by a son: Gaylen Hoff and Larry L. Hoff siblings: Rhodell Sigley, Harold Hoff, Dale Hoff, Sherwood Hoff, Eleanor Dehrone and Phyllis Hoff.

A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, July 27, 2024 at 2 PM at Northampton Memorial Shrine - 3051 Green Pond Rd, Easton, PA 18045.
