It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ronald Jay Achenbach, who left this world on Friday, July 17, 2026 at his residence. He was 90 years old. Ronald was the loving husband to the late Jeanne M. (Loney) Achenbach for 60 years, before her passing in 2018.

Born on January 18, 1936, in Upper Mount Bethel Twp., he was the son of the late Stewart R. and Miriam Grace (Locke) Achenbach. Ron lived a life rich in love, faith, and purpose. For most of his life, he called Plainfield Twp. home, and for more than 50 years in a cherished residence that has been in his family for generations.

Ron was a passionate bird watcher and member of a club for years. He was never very far away from a pair of binoculars.

A dedicated member of his faith community, Ron was actively involved with the Easton Seventh-day Adventist Church for many years. Later in life, he embraced a new chapter at the L.E.G.I.T. home-based church with family and friends. He graduated from Blue Mountain Academy in Hamburg, PA, in 1956 and was a strong supporter of Christian education.

Ron's life will be remembered for his kind spirit, steadfast faith, humor, and the warmth he brought to everyone around him. His legacy will live on through the hearts of those he touched.

Ron is survived by his children, Jay Achenbach and his wife Donna of Pen Argyl; Rhonda Achenbach and her husband Larry Ramsey of Elliston, VA; grandson, Jake Achenbach and his wife Lilly of Bangor; great-granddaughter, Lexi; sister, Barbara Tobias, as well as nieces, nephews and extended family members. He was predeceased by his siblings, Celia Hevener and Carl Achenbach.

A Celebration of Life will take place at 4:00pm on Saturday, August 15, 2026 at 1450 Heimer Rd, Pen Argyl, PA 18072, with a time of food and fellowship afterwards.
