Robert S. Pellen, Sr., 80, of Palmer Township, passed away at Lehigh Valley Hospital – Cedar Crest while surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, September 17, 2023. Born in Easton, he was a son of the late Max F. and Grace E. (Siegfried) Pellen. A 1961 graduate of Wilson High School, “Bob” continued his education at Lafayette College earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering. He honorably served in the United States Army during Vietnam. Bob retired in 2013 from Picatinny Arsenal in Dover, NJ, where he had a successful career as a mechanical engineer. During his career at Picatinny, which spanned more than 40 years, he was most proud of his recruitment and mentoring of many young engineers. A member of Manzanedo Rod & Gun Club in Analomink, he enjoyed hunting and fishing, and he especially loved fishing with his granddaughters and great-grandchildren. Bob was a member of Arndt’s Lutheran Church in Forks Township.
Survivors: Bob will be lovingly remembered and dearly missed by his children, Robert S. Pellen, Jr. and wife, Donna, of Washington Township, and Andrea Markey and husband, Tim Rogers, of Lower Mount Bethel Township; granddaughters, Krista Pellenand partner, Justin, Victoria “Tori” Fitch, and Emily Ostrander and partner, Robert; nine great-grandchildren, Killian, Jaiden, Mason, Caleb, Aurora, Liam, Charlotte, Oliver, and Lilliana; sisters, Lydia Wisloski of Essex Junction, Vermont, and Susan Demanett and husband, Dennis, of Monrovia, California; nieces and nephews.
Services: A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 23, 2023, at 11:00 A.M. in Arndt’s Lutheran Church, 1851 Arndt Road, Easton (Forks Township) PA 18040. Friends and relatives are invited to call on Saturday morning from 9:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. in the church. Interment, with Military Honors, will follow in Arndt’s Cemetery, Forks Township. Arrangements are under the care and direction of the GEORGE G. BENSING FUNERAL HOME, LLC, in the Village of Moorestown – Bath.
Contributions: In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be offered to Arndt’s Lutheran Church.
