It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Robert A. Fehnel, loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend, who left us peacefully on Thursday, March 12, 2026, at the age of 85. Robert and his wife, the former Barbara I. Gouldner, celebrated 63 wonderful years of marriage last September 22nd.
Born at home in Petersville, he was the son of the late Samuel H. and Arlene M. (Beil) Fehnel. Robert lived a life filled with kindness, dedication, and service to others.
He was a graduate of Northampton High School, Class of 1957, and a member of the baseball and wrestling team. A proud veteran of the United States Air Force, Robert served during the Cold War era, a chapter of his life that instilled in him the values of discipline and camaraderie. After his service, he dedicated more than 40 years in the food services industry as a route sales driver for Aramark, where he was known for his friendly demeanor and unwavering work ethic, retiring in 2003.
Beyond his work career, Robert dedicated many years of service to his community, specifically the Moore Township Athletic Association, where he enthusiastically coached baseball, football and softball. He was a true sportsman at heart and, following his retirement, passionately pursued the game of golf. Later in life, he expanded his talents and took up the art of painting, a pastime he greatly enjoyed. Robert was a member of Grundsow Lodge, The Golden Oldies social group, and Emmanuel's Lutheran Church.
In addition to his loving wife, Barbara, he is survived by their children, Suzanne Hunsberger and husband, Jesse, of New Tripoli, Sheri Bollinger of Moore Township, Dennis Fehnel of Northampton, and Scott Fehnel and wife, Marni, of Coplay; eight grandchildren and several great-grandchildren, who will forever cherish his love and guidance. He is also survived by his sister, Linda Floria and husband, James, of New Port Richey, Florida, who will remember him lovingly; and his loyal dog, Bailey.
Robert's legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. He was a man of integrity, compassion, and warmth-a light in the lives of many. He will be deeply missed, but his spirit will continue to inspire everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during a public visitation on Friday afternoon, March 20, 2026, beginning at 12:30 PM in the GEORGE G. BENSING FUNERAL HOME, INC., 2165 Community Drive, Route 946, in the Village of Moorestown - Bath, PA 18014, followed by a Memorial Service at 2:00 PM. Military Honors will conclude services. Online expressions of sympathy may be recorded at www.bensingfuneralhome.net.
Robert's family kindly requests that you consider offering a memorial contribution to a charity of your choice.
