Richard A. "Rich" "Flip" Filipovits", 68, of Bushkill Township, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 9, 2026 at Northampton Post Acute - Easton. He was the beloved husband of Deanna Filipovits (Rothrock) to whom he was married to for 39 years this September. Born in Easton, Richard was a son of the late Frank and Angela Filipovits (Teklits).

His love of automobiles naturally led him into a career as an auto mechanic, where he put his mechanical talents to work for many years. Later in life, he transitioned to the laboratory at Essroc, Lonestar, and eventually Buzzi UNICEM, where he concluded his career as an X-ray technician. Regardless of where he worked, he was respected for his strong work ethic, technical knowledge, and willingness to lend a hand.

Away from work, he found happiness in life's simple pleasures. He enjoyed spending time with his beloved dog, Paisley, listening to the music of Tom Petty, watching classic movies and television shows-especially Columbo-and was an avid fan of drag racing. Whether he was at a race, a car show, or simply talking with friends about engines and classic cars, he was in his element.

He was a member of Holy Family Parish in Nazareth. Above all, he will be remembered for the love he shared with his family, his lifelong passion for classic cars, his exceptional mechanical abilities, and the pride and dedication he brought to everything he did.

In addition to his wife, he will be forever remembered by his daughter: Amanda Flyte (Joseph) of East Allen Township; grandson: Owen; sister: Christine Dotts (Kevin) of Easton; nephews: Steven Williams of Tatamy and Jeffrey Williams of Nazareth;

A Memorial Service/Luncheon will be announced at a later date. Online expressions of sympathy may be recorded at: bensingfuneralhome.net. Arrangements and cremation care are under the of the GEORGE G. BENSING FUNERAL HOME, INC. - Moorestown/Bath.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be offered to The ALS Association - 1919 University Ave W. Suite 175 - St. Paul, MN 55104.
