It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Richard W. "Dickie" Creyer Sr., a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and esteemed member of the community, who entered eternal rest on January 6, 2026. He was 87. Born in Northampton, Richard Sr. was a son of the late Thomas A. and Lottie (Roth) Creyer. Richard Sr. was a 1956 graduate of Northampton High School. He lived a life dedicated to family, service, and his profession, leaving an indelible mark on all who knew him.
Richard Sr. devoted several decades of his life to the plumbing and heating supply industry, serving with distinction as the key employee of the Connolly family and his lifelong friend whom he considered a brother, Paul Connelly Jr., at Bath Supply Company, Inc., before becoming a partner in 1975. His steadfast commitment to excellence and integrity shaped not only his career but also the lives of countless colleagues and customers. In addition to his professional and familial roles, Richard Sr. proudly served his country in the Army, embodying the values of loyalty and dedication that defined his life. He was a member of Manoquesy Lodge No. 413 F. & A.M., Bath as well as an active and faithful member of Calvary Baptist Church, where he served as a trustee, usher and greeter. An avid Phillies and Eagles fan, Richard was a true sportsman at heart, and he ardently supported Northampton Scholastic sports and local little league baseball throughout the years.
A devoted family man, Richard Sr. cherished his wife JoAnne, and together they nurtured a loving home in Bethlehem. He is survived by his sons, Richard W. Creyer, Jr. and his wife, Deborah, of Prairie Grove, Arkansas, and Craig H. Creyer and his partner, Karla Lockwood, of North Catasauqua, and a daughter-in-law, Kay A. (Leiby) Creyer of Blandon, who will carry forward his legacy of kindness and strength. Richard Sr's joyful spirit will be missed by his grandchildren: Amy Percifield and her husband, Ben, William Creyer and his wife, Andrea, Michael Creyer and his wife, Casey, Matthew Creyer and his fiancee, Katerina, Christopher Creyer, Brandon Creyer, Alexis Thompson and her husband, Forrest, and Luke Creyer; and great-grandchildren, Naomi, Gus, James, and Theodore. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Harriet Boehmer, and fondly loved by many nieces and nephews.
Richard Sr. was preceded in death by a son, Mark T. Creyer, in 2022; and two brothers, Robert and George Creyer.
As we gather to celebrate Richard Sr.'s remarkable life, let us remember his warmth, his laughter, and his unwavering love for his family and friends. May he rest in peace, knowing he was deeply cherished by all.
A Funeral Service will be held in his honor on Monday, January 12, 2026, at 11:00 A.M. in Calvary Baptist Church, 5300 Green Pond Road, Easton, PA 18045. Friends and Relatives are invited to attend a viewing on Sunday afternoon from 3:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. in the church, and Monday morning from 9:00 A.M. until the time of service in the church. Burial with Military Honors at Bethlehem Memorial Park Cemetery will be held privately with the family. Arrangements are under the care and direction of the GEORGE G.
