"And when his time of service was ended, he went to his home."
Luke 1:23

In Loving Memory of Pastor Barty Abdelnour

Pastor Barty Abdelnour went home to be with the Lord after a life wholly and joyfully given to Jesus Christ. For more than 70 years, he served humbly without ceasing, giving beyond measure, and faithfully pouring himself out for the sake of the gospel.

His long journey and faithful ministry began in Egypt, where he established and served in more than eighteen churches across Egypt and throughout its humble villages. In a land where following Christ often came at great personal cost, he remained steadfast. He endured persecution for his faith, yet never allowed fear to silence his calling. Instead, he continued to preach, shepherd, and serve with quiet courage, sincere love, and deep trust in God. Alongside church planting, Pastor Barty helped teach at a theological school in Egypt, investing deeply in training future pastors and leaders in areas where it is virtually impossible to serve. His ministry was never about recognition-it was about faithfulness.

In 1980, he continued his pastoral calling in Allentown, Pennsylvania, among the thousands of Arabic immigrants. Whether across continents or cultures, his heart for ministry and service to his congregation never changed. He served humbly, consistently giving more than was required, always placing others before himself.

Most of all, he loved his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, with all his heart. That love was the source of his perseverance, his unwavering devotion, and his gentleness to each and every member. Whether in his own congregation or just someone who called on him for help, he never failed to answer the call and to give all that he had. This was evident not only in his preaching, but in the way he lived each day- a man who was steadfast in prayer, quiet in strength, and faithful to the very end. To his family, he was a devoted husband to Ruth, a loving and gentle father to Bajet, Lillian, and Bassem, and a cherished grandfather to his grandchildren. His faith was lived daily at home, where unbounded love, sincere and intimate prayer, and Christ-like example spoke more powerfully than words can ever describe.

Though we grieve his passing immensely, we rest in the peace of knowing that his work is complete. His service has ended, his race is finished, and his eternal reward is secure in Christ.

"Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his saints."
Psalm 116:15

We love you beyond measure, Asis (Pastor) Barty.
