It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Peter L. Cox Sr., who departed this life on July 13, 2026, at the age of 74. He was the loving husband to the late Kathleen L. (Pettit) Cox for over 20 years before her passing in 2006.

Born on December 22, 1951, in Suffern, NY, Peter was the son of the late Albert and Vera (Hebner) Cox.

Peter was known for his unwavering spirit and zest for life. A proud driver for J.P. Mascaro & Sons, he approached each day with dedication and a keen sense of responsibility. Peter's life was characterized by his love for classic country music, and he found immense joy in attending concerts, where he could share in the magic of live performances.

An avid racing enthusiast, Peter often traveled to watch NASCAR and dirt track races, relishing every moment spent on the road with his best friend Steve, whether exploring local venues or embarking on adventures further afield. His passion for life extended to visits to the casino, where he enjoyed either watching the games or trying his luck at the machines.

Peter is survived by his son Peter L. Cox, Jr. and his fiance Cynthia Pepas of Bath; brothers, Albert Cox (d), Robert Cox, Russell Cox and his wife, Robin, Harold Cox, David Cox and his wife, Pinky, Walter Cox, and Paul Cox and his wife, Frances; sisters, Rose Mulqueen (d), Doris Mandigo, and Edith Zielinski, many nieces and nephews and extended family members. dear friend Steve Tomsic.
