Nancy A. Smith, 97, formerly of Klecknersville, passed away at her home in Bushkill Township while surrounded by loving family on Wednesday, May 22, 2024. She was the beloved wife of the late Warren M. Smith to whom she was married for 31 years prior to his passing 2014.
Born in Drexel Hill, Delaware County, Nancy was a daughter of the late Dr. Frederick Sr. and Esther (Wilkie) Boerner. After attending high school, she earned a bachelor’s degree in education from the University of Pennsylvania and a master’s from Temple University. Nancy had a distinguished 30-year-career in education as a teacher and principal in the Quakertown School District, before retiring from Pfaff Elementary School where she taught 4th grade. Always happy, she had an amazing life growing up in Cape May, NJ, and she loved the beach. Nancy enjoyed knitting, swimming, sailing, playing piano and pinochle. She was a proud member of the Pilgrim John Howland Society.
Survivors: Nancy will be lovingly remembered by her three daughters, Linda S. and Kim A. Langstaff, and Cindy D. Bachman, with whom she resided; two sons, Thomas A. Langstaff of Maine, and Gary B. Langstaff and wife, Carol, of Cape May, NJ; nine grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; a step-son, Brian Smith of Klecknersville; a step-daughter, Bonnie Frederick and husband, Duane, of Maryland; along with step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, Warren, she was predeceased by her siblings: two brothers, Frederick Jr. and Robert Boerner; and three sisters, Eleanor, Doris, and Joan.
Services: Nancy’s viewing, funeral service, and burial at Bushkill M.E. Cemetery will be private. Arrangements are under the care and direction of the GEORGE G. BENSING FUNERAL HOME, LLC, in the Village of Moorestown – Bath.
