It is with deep sorrow that we announce the unexpected passing of Matthew G. Young of Nazareth, PA, at the family cabin in Bainbridge, NY on May 26, 2026, just days shy of his 44th birthday. He was a beloved husband, father, son, brother, and friend. Matt was the husband of Rachel A. (Cortez) Young for 17 years and would have celebrated 18 years on June 14th.

Born on June 1, 1982, in Bethlehem, he was the son of Stephanie A. (Karlowitch) Young and the late Glen G. Young.

Matthew graduated in the year 2000 from Nazareth Area High School. He later pursued a career as a MRI Technologist for St. Luke's University Health Network. Matt loved the outdoors. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and traveling with his family. His most proud moments were spent cheering on his children at their sporting, social, and academic events. It was never a surprise to receive a handwritten message or quote of encouragement from Matt. He was hardworking and always willing to lend a hand to others. Words can not express the sadness that everyone who knew Matt is experiencing at this tough time.

Along with his loving wife, Rachel, Matthew is survived by his twin children, Mckenzie and Spencer Young, whom he adored and loved dearly. He never hesitated to tell them how proud he was of them. He is also survived by his sister, Christine Williamson; mother and father-in-law, Donna & Barry Cortez, as well as his sister-in-law Sarah Cortez. Matthew was a wonderful and fun uncle to many nieces and nephews, and he was accompanied in his later years by his best friend and four-legged companion, Minnie. Matt's kindness extended beyond his immediate family, touching the lives of many friends and extended family members who will forever cherish the memories shared with him.

Friends and Relatives are invited to pay their respects on Wednesday evening, June 3, 2026, from 6:00pm to 8:00pm, in the GEORGE G. BENSING FUNERAL HOME, INC., 2165 Community Drive, in the Village of Moorestown - Bath, PA 18014 and again on Thursday, June 4, 2026 from 9:30am until 10:30. The Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:30am in Holy Family Catholic Church, 410 W Center St, Nazareth, PA 18064. Interment will take place privately at the convenience of the family.
