Following a courageous battle with cancer, Maryann M. Oswald, 58, passed away peacefully at her home in Bushkill Township, while surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, December 21, 2025. Newlyweds, Maryann and her husband, Nathan K. Oswald, previously shared a devoted relationship of 11 years, prior to their marriage on May 25th.
Born in Fountain Hill, she was a daughter of the late Charles E. Heckman and Diana M. (Kichline) Transue, and stepdaughter of the late Bradley A. Transue, Sr. A 1986 graduate of Pen Argyl Area High School and Career Institute of Technology, Maryann was a licensed hairdresser and passionately owned and operated a salon in Wind Gap, where her clients were treated as family. More recently, she was employed as a residential supervisor at Keystone Human Services in Whitehall, a position which she excelled at providing compassionate care and meaningful solutions for her clients to better direct their lives.
Service to others was how Maryann led by example, and she faithfully devoted several years to serving as a foster parent, which was a testament of her passion to positively impact the lives of others. When she wasn't helping others, in her free time she enjoyed playing pool, traveling and visiting historic sites, and researching her family ancestral lineage. Maryann was a passionate photographer and collage artist, and she always welcomed the challenge of a new home improvement project. Above all, she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, niece, aunt, cousin, and true friend who will live on in the hearts and lives of all she touched.
Survivors: In addition to her loving husband, Nate, she will be dearly missed by her daughter, Rachael Romanowicz and husband, Logan, of Wind Gap; two sons, Ryan Halley and partner, Celeste Lugardo, of Wind Gap, and Ricky Anglemeyer and partner, Amanda Vopelius, of Bushkill Township; grandson, Wyatt Romanowicz, and a grandson on the way; a sister, Julie Parry and companion, Elvin Vernon, of Saylorsburg; three brothers, Clayton Heckman and companion, Angie Metzger, of Bangor, Buck Betz, and Todd Lindenmoyer, both of Northampton; nieces and nephews; aunts, uncles; and cousins.
Maryann was preceded in death by a nephew, Daniel M. "Danny" Heckman.
Services: A Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, December 28, 2025, at 5:00 PM in the GEORGE G. BENSING FUNERAL HOME, INC., 2165 Community Drive, Village of Moorestown - Bath, PA 18014.
