Nearly a centenarian, Mamie Jane Mosteller-Parr, 99, formerly of Southside Easton, peacefully passed away while surrounded by loving family on Thursday, April 9, 2026, at her residence in Hickory Hills, Moore Township.
Born on the modest family farm in Lower Saucon Township, she was a daughter of the late John C. and Eva A. (VanHorn) Keller. Known for her tremendous work ethic, Mamie was last employed, for a brief period, at Victaulic in Forks Township where she worked in the cafeteria retiring in 1989. Her welcoming smile and magnetic personality greeted many of the patrons at the snack bars of the former Orr's Department Store in Easton for 11 years, until the store closed in 1988, and at the former Hess's Department Store in Palmer Township.
A social butterfly, Mamie loved to dance and enjoyed getting together with her friends at the Senior Citizen Liberty Unit Club in East Stroudsburg as well as the American Legion in Wind Gap. She was talented and Mamie lovingly crocheted many handmade, beautiful afghans that are cherished family heirlooms. Satisfied with the simple pleasures in life, Mamie enjoyed listening to Country music and always looked forward to taking long car rides. She was a member of the former St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church and a life member of the Rice-Ebner American Legion Post 588, both of Easton.
As the patriarch of the family, Mamie will be lovingly remembered and dearly missed by her daughters, Elizabeth Thompson with whom she resided, Freda Kressler of Wind Gap, and Clara Reuther and husband Joe, of Lehighton; a son Walter J. Mosteller, Sr. of Wayne County; many grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Shirley Keller of Pen Argyl; as well as many nieces and nephews and their families.
Mamie was predeceased by three daughters, Barbara Morris, Rita A. Richline and, Joan Marie Mosteller; two sons, Richard G. Keller, Sr. and Frederick Mosteller, Jr.; a sister, Ida M. Laudenbach; and four brothers, Charles W. Sr., Arthur, Russell and Paul Keller; a granddaughter, Danielle Gougher; a great-granddaughter, Hailey Marie Serfass; and a great-grandson, David Edward Kleintop.
A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, at 1:00 PM in the GEORGE G. BENSING FUNERAL HOME, INC., 2165 Community Drive, Route 946, in the Village of Moorestown - Bath, PA 18014.
