Malin Lowell Cooper, 81, of Plainfield Township, PA, formerly of Prescott, AZ and Bergen County, NJ., passed away peacefully while surrounded by his loving family and friends on Saturday, April 18, 2026. Born in Queens, NY, Malin was a son of the late Murray and Lucille Cooper (Lubinsky).

Malin was an entrepreneur at heart, owning and operating several businesses over the years, most notably Sundance Auto Parts in Secaucus and Tri-Circle Auto Parts in Ridgefield, NJ. He took great pride in his work and in the relationships he built along the way, often spending hours in conversation with friends, customers, and anyone fortunate enough to cross his path.

He approached life with energy, passion, and a spirit of adventure, embracing both discipline and joy in all that he did.

During his time at Jamaica High School in Queens, he brought that drive to the basketball court, where he was known for regularly scoring 20+ points per game and sometimes even scored in the high 30’s (with box scores to prove it!).

That same sense of pride and determination carried into his service in the United States Army, where he was a helicopter gunman from 1963-1965 (non-combat). In his later years, he enjoyed motorcycles, traveling, camping, fishing, archery, kayaking, pipes, music, sports, and cars, but at the center of it all was his love of connection and the people he shared those moments with.

Above all, Malin was a devoted father and grandfather. He shared a close and meaningful bond with his children, creating memories that will be cherished for generations. He was known for his hands-on approach to life and parenting, teaching by example the values of resilience, humor, courage, and perseverance. He will be missed by his children Ryan Cooper (Lindsay Kirkpatrick) of Plainfield, Twp., and Andrea Napolitano (Fran) of Bloomfield, NJ; grandchildren: Alexander Cooper, Evelyn Cooper, Evan Napolitano, Jake Napolitano and Valerie Napolitano; great grandson: Andrew Napolitano; sister: (Roberta).

A Graveside Service with military honors will take place at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, April 28, 2026 at Washington Crossings National Cemetery - 830 Highland Rd, Newtown, PA 18940 . (Please arrive at cemetery no later than 10:15 AM. Online expressions of sympathy may be recorded at: bensingfuneralhome.net.
