Linda M.
Romig
Dec 4, 1954 — Aug 16, 2026
Bangor
It is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected death of our mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Linda M. Romig, 71, of Bangor. Linda passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 16, 2027, at Lehigh Valley Hospital - Muhlenberg Campus in Bethlehem, while surrounded by her loving family. She was 71.
Born in East Stroudsburg, Linda was a daughter of the late Jacob D. and Lauribel (Hunt) Zeigafuse. She attended Bangor High School, and she was a faithful member of New Covenant World Outreach Church in Effort.
Linda was a devoted homemaker and beloved matriarch whose greatest joy was her family. She enjoyed spending time playing bingo at the Elks and was a life member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the 2nd Ward Fire Co. in Bangor. A talented and creative woman, Linda found great pleasure in crocheting and lovingly hand-stitched quilts that have become treasured family heirlooms, carrying her love and craftsmanship on to future generations. Above all, she cherished the time she spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whose lives were enriched by her love, warmth, and devotion.
Although she will forever live on in the hearts and memories of all who knew and loved her, Linda will be dearly missed by her daughters, Lauribel A. Shipps and husband, Howard, of Effort, and Lisa A. Silfies and husband, Blaine Jr., of Kunkletown; four grandchildren, Crystal Romig, Ashley Shipps, Tiffany Sobrado and husband, Victor Jr., and Elijah Silfies and wife, Chloe; six great-grandchildren, Alyssa, Bryanna, Jacob, Caleb, Lily-Ann, Ruby, and one on the way; a sister, Martha F. Fonte of Bangor; a brother, Daniel F. Zeigafuse of Hellertown; along with many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her beloved husband of 29 years, Harold, who died in 2001, she was also predeceased by two sisters, Dorothy M. Romig and Mary A. Kresge.
Please join Linda's family for a Celebration of Life service on Saturday, August 29, 2026, at 1:00 PM at the residence of Lisa & Blaine Silfies, 252 Upper 57 Road, Kunkletown, PA 18058. Arrangements and cremation care are under the direction of the GEORGE G. BENSING FUNERAL HOME, INC., in the Village of Moorestown - Bath. Online expressions of sympathy may be recorded at: bensingfuneralhome.net.
In lieu of flowers, those wishing to express their sympathy are invited to make a memorial contribution toward final expenses through the crowdfunding option available on the funeral home's website obituary.
