Kathryn A. Miklas, 86, of Bangor, formerly of Upper Nazareth Township, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Wednesday, May 01, 2024, at the Monroe County Hospice House in East Stroudsburg. She was the beloved wife of the late Stanley A. Miklas, Sr., to whom she was married 47 years prior to his passing in 2008.
Born at home in Bushkill Township, Kathryn was a daughter of the late George Sr. and Kathryn (Heberling) Cole. She worked in the garment industry at various blouse mills for more than 20 years, before transitioning to the retail sector which included employment at Walmart and later retiring in 2013 from GIANT in Wind Gap. One of her favorite pastimes was watching Fox News while enjoying a cup of coffee and conversing with friends. She loved animals and enjoyed spending time with her family’s pets. Kathryn was a member of Bushkill United Methodist Church.
Survivors: Kathryn will be lovingly remembered and dearly missed by her children, Kathy Stier of Upper Nazareth Township, and Stanley A. Miklas, Jr. of Allen Township; former daughter-in-law, Susan Leary of Allen Township; two grandchildren, Brian Stier of Bushkill Township, and Jennifer Miklas of Palmerton; two great-granddaughters, Aloni and Aracelli; along with many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, Stanley, she was predeceased by a son-in-law, Jeffrey A. Stier; a brother, George Cole, Jr.; and two sisters, Minnie M. Davidson and Shirley I. Smith.
Services: Kathryn’s viewing and burial at Greenwood Cemetery in Nazareth will be held privately with her family. Arrangements are under the care and direction of the GEORGE G. BENSING FUNERAL HOME, LLC, in the Village of Moorestown – Bath. Online expressions of sympathy may be recorded at: bensingfuneralhome.net.
