Karl K. Unger, 94, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 26, 2026 at Country Meadows of Forks. He was the beloved husband of the late Betty M. (Hase) Unger to whom he was married to for 64 years before her passing in 2016. Born in Bushkill Township, Karl was a son of the late Kenneth and Florence Unger (Hahn).

He was a proud graduate of Nazareth High School, Class of 1949, and went on to serve his country honorably in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. Following his service, he dedicated his life to his trade, owning and operating Unger & Sons Plumbing, Heating & Air Conditioning for nearly 50 years. Through his work, he became a trusted name in the community, known for his skill, reliability, and strong work ethic.

Deeply committed to his community, he served on the Stockertown Borough Council for 20 years, including six years as Council President, helping guide the town with steady leadership and care.

He was a faithful member of Schoeneck Moravian Church and was actively involved in several fraternal organizations. He was a member of Whitfield Lodge #622, a 32nd Degree Mason with the Valley of Allentown Consistory, and a member of the Rajah Shrine.

In his free time, he enjoyed bowling and golfing, finding both relaxation and camaraderie in the games he loved.

He will be forever remembered by his sons: Dennis Unger (Kathleen) of Friedens, PA, Dale Unger,(Tina) of Saylorsburg and Dean Unger (Kelly) of Plainfield Twp.; grandchildren: Amanda, Shannon, Tyler and Cori; companion: Anna Belle Perna.

Graveside Services at Hope Cemetery - Hecktown will be held privately. Online expressions of sympathy may be recorded at: bensingfuneralhome.net. Arrangements and cremation care are under the direction of the GEORGE G. BENSING FUNERAL HOME, INC. - Moorestown / Bath.
