For the past five years, he and his wife, Stacy, hosted an annual pig roast, simply for the joy of bringing family and friends together.
Joseph J. Gostony, 56, of Moore Twp., passed away unexpectedly while surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, November 3, 2026 at Lehigh Valley Hospital - Muhlenberg. He was the beloved husband of Stacy Gostony (Weidlick), with whom he shared 27 wonderful years together, including 13 years of marriage. Born in Allentown, Joseph was a son of the late Joseph L. and Alice B. Gostony (Davis).
Joseph was a hardworking, down-to-earth man who owned and operated Mrs. Gostony Trucking alongside his family. A country boy at heart, he enjoyed the simple pleasures in life. In his younger years, he was an avid hunter with his father-in-law, Vern, and he later found great enjoyment spending time at his seasonal campsite at Evergreen Lakes, taking leisurely rides on his golf cart, and firing up the grill. He loved cooking for family and friends and was especially known for making what many considered the best steaks around. Joseph also took great pride in roasting pigs for campground gatherings, friends' parties, and special occasions whenever the opportunity arose. For the past five years, he and his wife, Stacy, hosted an annual pig roast, simply for the joy of bringing family and friends together for a day filled with laughter, good food, and cherished memories.
Joseph had a lifelong love for animals, particularly his beloved Jack Russell Terriers, who brought him so much companionship, happiness, and countless cherished memories throughout the years. Each of his four-legged friends held a special place in his heart, and he treasured the unique personalities and unconditional love they brought into his life. His faithful companion, Walnut, was no exception. A glance through Joseph's phone would reveal countless selfies of the two together, capturing just one of the many special bonds he shared with his beloved dogs over the years.
Never one to shy away from speaking his mind, Joseph was a true character who enjoyed his cigarettes and was known to occasionally let a colorful word or two slip into conversation. Beneath his rugged exterior, however, was a remarkably generous and compassionate man with a heart of gold. Affectionately referred to as "Saint Joseph," he was the kind of person who would gladly give someone the shirt off his back, often putting the needs of others before his own. Whether lending a helping hand or bringing people together, his greatest reward was seeing others happy. His generosity, genuine nature, and willingness to help anyone in need left a lasting impression on countless lives. Joseph will be remembered not only for the life he lived, but for the many lives he touched along the way.
In addition to his wife, he will be remembered by his step-children: Zach Bergstresser of Lancaster and Joshua Gostony (Elizabeth) of Moore Twp; brother: Charles "Chuck" Gostony (Colleen) of Moore Twp. Joseph was predeceased by a sister: Monika Conner
