Joseph Michael Baran, 78, passed in his home on Monday, May 26th, 2025. Joe was born in Bethlehem, PA, to Edward and Eva (Wignovich) Baran.

He graduated from Liberty HS where he excelled at math and loved playing football. Following his high school years, Joe enlisted in the US Navy where he served with honor until 1971. Joe later took on the challenge of becoming an owner/operator of his own trucking business.

In the early 1980s, Joe made a career change, where he joined the Bethlehem Police Force where he served his community for two decades. Joe retired in 2004 and moved the Bath, PA to enjoy a quiet life with his dogs and partner, Cheryl.

An avid music lover, he curated an extensive record collection. He was a true animal lover, and his home was always filled with the noise of the many dogs he cared for throughout his life. Joe had a love for sports, fishing, and the great outdoors. He cherished the moments spent under the sun, whether casting a line or cheering on his favorite teams.

Joe was an active member of his community. He was a proud member of the Northeast Wanderers, the Bath Legion, and the Hecktown Fire Company. Joe was also a lifetime member of the 540 Democratic Club and Republican Club, Bath. Joe's infectious laughter, generous spirit, and love for life will be missed by all who knew him.
