Henry J. Lengel, 92, of Bushkill Township, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 29, 2026 at Lehigh Valley Hospital - Muhlenberg. He was the beloved husband of the late Lynn Lengel (Thorne) to whom he was married to for 52 years before her passing in 2015. Born in Reading, Henry was a son of the late William and Ruth Lengel (Boyer).

He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict. His love of aviation ultimately became both a career and a lifelong passion. He spent 40 years working as an air traffic controller before retiring in 1993, a profession well suited to his steady nature, sharp mind, and appreciation for all things aviation.

Even away from work, flying remained an important part of his life. He was a member of The Quiet Birdmen, where he enjoyed the camaraderie and fellowship of fellow aviators. When he wasn't looking toward the sky, he could often be found enjoying a round of golf, another pastime that brought him many years of enjoyment.

He will be dearly missed by his children: Donna Wartenberg, of Bath, Deborah Mackes (Terry) of Inverness, FL, and Colleen Tsarnas (Gregory) of Ardmore, PA; five grandchildren: Bryan, Brent, Shawn, Madelynn and Alexander; four great-grandchildren: Tyler, Jayden, Athena and Rylynn. Henry was predeceased by siblings: Thomas, Bill & Roger Lengel and Evelyn Lewis.
