George H. Laubach, 70, passed away unexpectedly at his residence in Wilson Borough on Friday, December 26, 2025. Born in Quakertown, he was a son of the late Wilmer H. and Isabell A. (Shankweiler) Laubach. After attending Nazareth High School, George embarked on a outstanding career as a steelworker and was employed for many years at the former Bethlehem Steel Corp. until its closing.
Beyond his work career, George enjoyed visiting the Lancaster area and he particularly loved dining at the Shady Maple, where he shared fond memories of great food and friendships throughout the years. Known for possessing a "good sense of humor", George simply loved to laugh and was quite the comedian who enjoyed entertaining family, friends, and the occasional stranger with his intellectual wit and jokes.
Gone too soon and never to be forgotten by his daughter, Monica S. Laubach of Bethlehem; a step-daughter, Eleanora Martino of Bethlehem Township; two step-grandchildren, Destiny and Fayraina Painton; a brother, Thomas R. Laubach and wife, Elizabeth, of Hellertown; four sisters, Betty J. Pitsko and husband, Joseph, of Lower Nazareth Township, Shirley A. Durn and Sandra J. Durn and husband, Richard, both of Bethlehem, and Linda R. Keller of Whitehall; along with many nieces and nephews.
George was predeceased by his former wife, Carolina (Piro) Laubach, in 2013, and Duke, his Rottweiler.
Graveside Services will be held privately with the family at Hope Cemetery, Hecktown. Arrangements are under the care and direction of the GEORGE G. BENSING FUNERAL HOME, INC., Village of Moorestown - Bath. Online expressions of sympathy may be recorded at: www.bensingfuneralhome.net.
