Franklin G.
Hahn
Feb 1, 1937 — Oct 5, 2026
Bushkill Township
Franklin G. Hahn, 89, of Bushkill Township, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, October 5, 2026, at Lehigh Valley Hospital - Hecktown Oaks in Lower Nazareth Township. He and his beloved wife, the former Anita H. (Holley) Hahn, shared 37 years of marriage, having celebrated their anniversary on June 30th.
Born in East Bangor, Franklin was a son of the late Fred and Mabel (Meixell) Hahn. A proud veteran, he honorably served his country in the United States Army during the Cold War era. Affectionately known as "Sawdust", Franklin was a hardworking man who dedicated nearly 30 years to J.H. Beers, Inc., a heavy excavation and contracting business in Wind Gap, where he was employed as a heavy equipment operator. Later, together with his wife, Anita, he owned and operated a successful sawdust hauling business for 17 years before retiring.
Away from work, Franklin found great enjoyment in tractors. A true tractor enthusiast, he looked forward to attending tractor shows and took great pride in his collection of miniature tractors accumulated throughout the years. Thursdays were also a special part of Franklin's week, when he enjoyed gathering with friends at the former Flurer's Hotel. Those simple occasions spent visiting, sharing conversation, and enjoying the company of friends brought him much happiness.
Above all, Franklin was a devoted husband who shared a wonderful life with Anita. His quiet presence, familiar routines, and the many memories created throughout a life well lived will be lovingly remembered by those who knew and cared for him.
In addition to his loving wife, Anita, he is survived by nieces and nephews.
Franklin was preceded in death by a brother, Charles H. Hahn; and a sister, Maybelle Kilpatrick.
