Frank J.
Delmore
March 6, 1951 – April 16, 2026
Country Gate Playhouse
Starts at 3:00 pm (Eastern time)
Frank J. Delmore, Jr., 75, of Wind Gap, PA, passed away Thursday, April 16, 2026. Born March 6, 1951, in Flemington, New Jersey, he was the son of the late Mary J. Hagerty (Luster) and Frank J. Delmore, Sr.
Raised in a modest family, Frank developed his strong work ethic early in life, holding a variety of jobs as a young man, from delivering eggs and working in a deli to laundry delivery and serving as a gas station attendant. Even while working, he proudly served as Key Club president and starred in several plays during high school.
Following graduation, Frank explored several paths, including real estate, local politics, and coursework at Rutgers University, but ultimately found his calling in public service. He went on to build and lead the Warren County Housing Program, dedicating over 50 years as Executive Director. His work centered on helping others gain stability and opportunity through rental assistance, senior housing, and home rehabilitation programs. He took great pride in the impact of that work and in being among the longest-serving housing directors in the country.
Frank had a lifelong love of classic cars, purchasing his first at just 14 years old with money he earned himself. Over the years, he owned many, but especially cherished his pale yellow 1972 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme convertible. He also had a deep appreciation for music, particularly vinyl records, and the voices of artists like Dean Martin and Elvis Presley. Few things brought him more peace than a sunny day, an open road, and music playing as he drove without a destination in mind.
The stage continued to be one of Frank's lifelong passions. Beginning in high school and continuing for over five decades at Country Gate Playhouse, he became known for his strong voice and commanding presence. He performed in numerous productions, including Deathtrap, The Grapes of Wrath, and Inherit the Wind. It was through the stage that he met his wife, Regina R. "Gina" Delmore (Reo). After she returned to her hometown in Ohio to begin her teaching career, Frank drove overnight to convince her to come back, marking the beginning of their life together. They were married for 19 years, and after her passing in 2004, he carried her memory with him always.
Frank was a devoted and proud father to Marisa R. Scurato (Delmore) of Easton, Pennsylvania, and Cullen J. Delmore of Wind Gap, Pennsylvania. He often spoke of his years raising young children as some of the happiest of his life. He was also a loving grandfather to Lochlan D. Scurato and Calder R. Scurato, both of Easton, Pennsylvania. Lochlan shares his grandfather's deep love of cars, while Calder reflects his appreciation for life's small fascinations, such as the blooming of trees in spring.
He is also survived by his daughter-in-law, Gina Scurato, of Easton, Pennsylvania, his sister, Susan Manning (Delmore) of Spring, Texas, and his brother, Robert Delmore of Port St. Lucie, Florida, along with many extended family members, including nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles. In addition to his wife and parents, Frank was also predeceased by his stepfather, Donald P. Haggerty.
He leaves behind a legacy of service, resilience, and a life lived on his own terms.
A celebration of Frank's life will be held at Country Gate Playhouse in Belvidere, New Jersey, on Saturday, June 6th at 3:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Country Gate Players, 114 Greenwich Street, Belvidere, NJ, (CountryGate.org) in his memory.
