Elva V. Dorshimer

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Elva V. Dorshimer, aged 75, who left this world peacefully on July 22, 2025. Born on July 2, 1950, in Fountain Hill, PA and was the daughter to the late Robert E. and Elsie V. (Sterner) Yeakel. Elva was a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend to many, whose warmth and kindness touched the lives of all who knew her.

Elva was a long-time resident of Bath and had resided at Gracedale Nursing Home for the past four years. She enjoyed all types of music and loved dancing. Was also a yearly attendant at the West End Fair, local carnivals, amusement parks and Yard sales. 

Elva enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. 

She is survived by her siblings Richard Yeakel of Bath, Frank Yeakel and wife Joan of Bath, and Alvin Yeakel. Cherished daughters, Bonnie Burgess of Bath, Kerrie Pillow and companion Jeff Parker of FL, and beloved son, Richard Hoffman, Jr. and wife Allison of Behctelsville.  Grandchildren, Brian Hoffman and wife Ashley, of Wind Gap, Jennifer Burgess of Slatington, Jacob Hoffman and fiancé Hayley Johnson of Virginia, Jessica Schell and husband Corey of FL. Great-Grandchildren, Alexia Heffelfinger, Lowell Schell, Alejandro Munoz, Rylan Voorhees, Dawson Schell, Olivia Hoffman, Charlotte Hoffman, Ashlyn Schell, Piper Hoffman, and Grayson Hoffman; Sister-in-law, Rita Yeakel. She leaves behind many cousins, nieces and nephews. Elva was predeceased by sister Elsie Muffley, brother Clayton Yeakel, brother Samuel Yeakel, grandson Bradley Burgess, and sister-in-law Agnus Yeakel.  She was a nurturing presence in their lives and will be deeply missed by them and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
