Catherine S. Filchner

Catherine S. Filchner, 72, of Palmerton, passed away, Saturday, December 24, 2023 at St. Luke's Hospice – Lower Saucon Twp.  She is the wife of Curtis W. Filchner. Catherine was born in Lehighton on November 21, 1951 to the late Harold G. & Dolores (May) Strohl. She is a graduate of Palmerton Area High School. Catherine worked as a seamstress for Cross Country Clothing – Egpyt and a telephone operator for Bell Telephone – Allentown. She was also a beautician.  Catherine was a member of Grace Lutheran Church – Lehighton.  She enjoyed many camping trips with her husband and family.

SURVIVORS:

In addition to her husband of 54 years; children: Shawn Filchner (Virgina) of Palmerton and Sandee L. Poudrier and her husband Chris of Palmerton; siblings: Connie Costenbader of Lakeland, FL and Dennis Strohl and his wife Melissa of Henderson, MD; grandchildren: Christina, Courtnee, Matthew, Curtis, Bridget and Stephanie; great grandchildren: Elijah, Hunter, Teyla, Logan, Kaylee and Selah. Catherine is predeceased by children: Steven H. Filchner, Jamie & Jean Filchner.

SERVICE:

Private Graveside Services will be held at Franklin Heights Cemetery – Weissport. Online expressions of sympathy can be recorded at: www.bensingfuneralhome.net Arrangements are under the care and direction of the GEORGE G. BENSING FUNERAL HOME, LLC.
