It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Bonnie L. (Fritz) Welty, of Walnutport, who passed away peacefully at Kirkland Village - Bethlehem on August 16, 2026. She was the loving wife to Dennis L. Welty, Sr., in which they shared 58 incredible years together.

Born on June 28, 1950, Bonnie was the daughter to the late June M. (Fritz) Bruch.

Bonnie embarked on her educational journey in the Nazareth Area School District, pausing her studies at 11th grade to support her husband, Dennis, during his service in Vietnam. Demonstrating her unwavering commitment to personal growth, she later returned to school and earned her Graduate Equivalence Degree within the Easton Area School District.

For 31.5 years, Bonnie devoted herself to her work at the Lehigh Valley Post Office, where her friendly demeanor and commitment to service were deeply appreciated by her colleagues and customers alike. She retired in 2013, cherishing the memories of her time spent in the postal service.

Bonnie's passions included gardening and working with flowers, activities that brought her joy and allowed her to share her beauty with those around her. A talented crocheter, she crafted beautiful rugs for her home, showcasing her creativity and skill. An excellent cook, Bonnie learned many family recipes from her two beloved aunts.

Her warm and nurturing nature drew children to her wherever she went. Even in her later years, as she bravely battled dementia for 12 years, she maintained a special bond with the younger generation, embodying a spirit of love and compassion that will be cherished by all who knew her.

Bonnie was an all around beautiful woman who will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Along with her husband Dennis, Bonnie is survived by her son, Dennis L. Welty, Jr. of Northampton, as well as many brothers and sisters along with nieces, nephews and extended family members. Additionally, she is survived by friends and colleagues from the Postal Service that she held near and dear to her heart. Bonnie is predeceased by her son Jeremy Welty.

Family and Friends are invited to a calling hour from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 21, 2026, in the George G. Bensing Funeral Home, Inc. - 2165 Community Drive, in the Village of Moorestown - Bath, PA 18014. A graveside service will take place immediately following at Indianland Cemetery - Cherryville.
