Bettilou Brown, 98, of Plainfield Twp., passed away on Friday, January 9, 2026 at Asbury Chandler Estate - Plainfield Twp. She was the beloved wife of the late Lewis Brown. Born in Slatington, Bettilou was a daughter of the late Homer and Lillian Daubert (Bachman).
She was a 1944 graduate of Slatington High School and a proud member of the Cadet Nurse Corps. She went on to graduate from the Jefferson Hospital School of Nursing in 1948, earning her Registered Nurse degree, and later attended courses at East Stroudsburg University. She dedicated her professional life to nursing, serving in various roles at Easton Hospital until her retirement in 1987. Committed to advancing medical knowledge, she also participated in the Harvard Medical Nurses' Health Study for more than 25 years. She was a member of the Jefferson Hospital Nurses Alumni Association.
In her personal life, she lived quietly and found joy in simple pleasures, including reading, walking, crocheting, and playing the piano. Her greatest happiness came from her beloved pets-Hoagie, Bam Bam, Molly, and Teddy-who brought her companionship and comfort and whom she lovingly cared for throughout her life.
Survivors: She will be missed by her daughter-in-law: Carol A. Brown of Wind Gap; nieces: Karen Arner, Kathy Sander, Susan & Sharon; nephews: Terry Chandler, Timothy & Gary Daubert.
Bettilou was predeceased by a son: Stephen Brown; brother: Edgar Daubert; sisters: Faye Jackson and Grace Hay.
As per Bettilou's wishes, Graveside Services will be held privately at Slatington Union Cemetery Online expressions of sympathy may be recorded at: bensingfuneralhome.net. Arrangements and cremation care are under the direction of the GEORGE G. BENSING FUNERAL HOME, INC.
