Arlington D. “Artie” Trone, Sr., 80, of Wind Gap, formerly of Pen Argyl, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, July 10, 2023, at Lehigh Valley Hospital –Hectown Oaks in Lower Nazareth Township. He was the husband of Emma J. (Mayers) Trone. Artie and Emma just celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary on June 27th. Born in Pen Argyl, he was a son of the late Jacob H.W. and Mary (Amy) Trone. Artie attended Pen Argyl High School. For nearly 40 years, he was a truck driver at various businesses and retired early from James River Corporation, the former Dixie Cup in Wilson Borough, due to an injury. An avid fisherman, Artie was a member of the Roseto Rod & Gun Club and St. Peter’s Evangelical Lutheran Church of Plainfield. He also enjoyed cooking and baking, and he cherished spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors: In addition to his loving wife, Emma, he will be dearly missed by his children, Arlington D. “Artie” Trone, Jr. of Effort, and Amy Christopher and fiancé, Mark Singleton, of Pen Argyl; four grandchildren, Kurtis Singleton and fiancée, Tabitha, Katelyn Trone, Noah and Hunter Marsh; three great-granddaughters, Peyton, Kaia, and Kaylinn; a brother, Ronald Trone and wife, Denise, of Michigan; four sisters, Rhodell Gregor and husband, Ronald, of Stokesdale, North Carolina, Henrietta Trone and friend, Ruthanne Myers, of Washington Township, Margaret Winters and companion, Frank Delmore, of Wind Gap, and Patricia Sportelli and companion, Enrico Grillo, of Easton; along with many nieces andnephews.
Services: Services to be announced at a later time. Arrangements are being handled by the GEORGE G. BENSING FUNERAL HOME, LLC, in the Village of Moorestown – Bath.
