Maria Del Carmen Iglesias

Maria Del Carmen Iglesias, 85, of Pen Argyl, formerly of Northeast Philadelphia, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, August 30, 2023, at Suburban Community Hospital in Norristown.  Born in Havana, Cuba, she was a daughter of the late Rogelio and Lugarda (Torres) Rodriguez.  Maria was the wife of the late Enrique Iglesias, Sr, who died in 1972.  She retired from Cardinal Health, formerly PCI Pharma Services, in Northeast Philadelphia where she was a production worker for many years.  A gambler at heart, Maria enjoyed going to the casino and playing the lottery numbers and scratch-offs.  She was a junk food junkie who loved her sweets and always enjoyed a good cup of coffee.

Survivors: Maria will be lovingly remembered and dearly missed by her daughter, Maria Heckman and husband, William, with whom she resided; two sons, Enrique Jr. and Jorge Iglesias, both of Philadelphia; seven grandchildren, Erica, Cristina, Maria Teresa, Jorge, Alyssa, Gabriella, and Andrea; four great-grandchildren, Milo, Justice, Tianna, and Noamarie; along with nieces and nephews.  In addition to her husband, Enrique, she was predeceased by a brother, Rene’, and a sister, Raquel.

Services: A Graveside Service will be held privately with the family at Hillside Cemetery in Roslyn, PA. There will be no calling hours.  Arrangements are under the care and direction of the GEORGE G. BENSING FUNERAL HOME, LLC, 2165 Community Drive, Route 946, in the Village of Moorestown – Bath, PA 18014.
