David Williams, Sr.

David Williams, Sr., 59, of Plainfield Township, passed away at his home surrounded by love and family on Wednesday, July 19, 2023.  He was the loving husband of Mary L. (Kindred) Williams.  Born in East Stroudsburg, Dave was a son of the late Horace F. Sr. and Gloria (Dech) Williams.  He was a 1981 graduate of Pen Argyl High School.  Prior to his early retirement due to health concerns, Dave had a successful career in the mining industry as a senior blasting technicianat Maurer & Scott, Inc. in Coopersburg, where he was employed for 33 years.  Throughout their nearly 40 years of marriage, Dave and Mary served as foster parents opening their home and hearts to many young children in need.  He was an avid car enthusiast and enjoyed hunting, fishing and golfing.  His passion, however, was farming and he absolutely loved the field work.  Known for his attention to detail, Dave meticulously maintained his home andproperty, specifically his lawn which was a work of art.

Survivors: In addition to his loving wife, Mary, he is survived by three children, David Williams, Jr. and significant other, Jamie Rider, Douglas, and Alyssa Williams, all of Plainfield Township; two granddaughters, Alexis and Ava; a brother, James Williams and wife, Denise, of Northampton; twosisters, Bonnie Williams and Greg Andrews, of Bangor, and Tammy Williams of Plainfield Township; along with nieces and nephews.  Dave was predeceased by a brother, Horace F. “Bud” Williams, Jr.

Services: A funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 27, 2023, at 12 Noon in Slate Belt NazarethBaptist Church, 1620 Church Road, Pen Argyl, PA 18072.  Friends and relatives are invited to call on Thursday morning from 10:00 A.M. to 12 Noon in the church.  Arrangements are under the care and direction of the GEORGE G. BENSING FUNERAL HOME, LLC, in the Village of Moorestown – Bath.
